There are sixteen Scholarship places available in the Chamber Choir (four each of SATB). Scholars attend all Chamber Choir and Senior Choir events and are given a termly stipend of £200, to be used towards travel and singing lesson expenses. Scholars (who are usually aged 18+) have notable technical and music-reading ability and so may be offered leadership opportunities within the other LYC choirs.

There are four Apprentice places available in the Chamber Choir. Apprentices are usually aged between 16-18, and are selected through demonstration of exceptional musical promise and dedication to developing their technical and choral knowledge. Chamber Choir Apprenticeships are given fully subsidised LYC membership.

Auditions are held every September.
