The Cambiata Girls Choir is for girls in school years 7-11. This choir provides support and inspiration to nurture girls at this stage of their vocal development.

This Choir is conducted by Andy King and rehearses on Monday evenings during term time, from 6.15 – 7.30 pm, near St Paul’s. All choir members participate in a range of concert performances throughout the term, often collaborating with the Cambiata Boys Choir.



Andy is a conductor and music teacher based in London. Having studied music and a PGCE at Newcastle and Durham Universities, Andy has forged a successful teaching career in the arts working at schools in Durham and North Yorkshire before moving to London.

Since September he has been Head of Music at Samuel Ryder Academy in St Albans. Whilst based in the North-East Andy founded the award-winning Northern Spirit Singers (National Choir of the Year Adult winners, 2014) and Tees Valley Youth Choir, whom he conducted in the national “God Only Knows” BBC Music campaign (2014). Andy has also had a long association with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain.


Membership of the Cambiata Girls’ Choir gives young female singers the opportunity to develop their musicianship and vocal skills, to learn to sing in different languages and styles, to develop their individual singing confidence and to perform in exciting venues, all whilst making new friends from across London.

The Choir perform several concerts throughout the year with recent highlights including performances at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the My Christmas Orchestral Adventure shows.

Members of the Choir pay a subsidised annual fee of £255 which includes a concert folder and your first LYC t-shirt.

A comprehensive financial assistance scheme is available to provide assistance with the cost of  fees, travel costs and concert uniform.
