LYC VOICES sings with Robbie Williams at Soccer Aid

LYC Voices joined global superstar Robbie Williams for a spectacular performance at Soccer Aid for UNICEF at London Stadium on 31 May, performing in front of 68,000 people in the stadium and over 5 million viewers around the world on television as well as celebrating 20 years of unforgettable moments and star-studded line-ups.

Performing alongside football legends and entertainment icons including Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe, Usain Bolt and Olly Murs, LYC had the unique privilege of providing a powerful choral backdrop to Robbie Williams’ highly anticipated set.

Soccer Aid for UNICEF returned to London this spring for its 20th anniversary celebration, bringing together celebrities and football legends for one of the UK’s biggest charity sporting events. Since its launch in 2006, the match has raised more than £121 million for UNICEF, supporting children around the world.

This year’s match welcomed a record number of fans to London Stadium as England faced Soccer Aid World XI FC in a memorable evening of football and entertainment, which is now avaliable to watch on ITVX.

An Unforgettable Experience for a Great Cause

Performing in front of 68,000 audience members was an unforgettable experience for LYC’s young singers. Sharing the stage with Robbie Williams marks another exciting collaboration for the choir and reflects LYC’s growing reputation across both the music and charitable sectors.

From inspiring concert halls to major televised events, opportunities like this continue to showcase the talent, versatility and ambition of London Youth Choirs on some of the country’s biggest stages.

One LYC VOICES member, Emika, proudly wrote a note to Robbie describing the experience which he proudly read out on his social media. We were so proud to be part of this amazing venture that raised £16,462,353 for Unicef, beating the previous best by around £3m.
