LYC’s BBC Proms debut
Published 19 September 2024
We were thrilled to make our BBC Proms debut in Prom 65, the last concert of Choral Day. LYC Chamber Choir sang in the massed chorus in a performance of Handel’s Messiah, alongside the Philharmonia Chorus, The Fourth Choir, the Jason Max Ferdinand Singers, Voices of the River’s Edge and Bath Minerva Choir. Conducted by John Butt, the performance also included the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and soloists Nardus Williams, Helen Charlston, Benjamin Hulett and Ashley Riches.
It really was a fantastic experience for our members to sing this wonderful piece alongside so many talented musicians, and we are thrilled to have been a part of it.
If you missed the Prom, you can listen back on BBC Sounds.
