My how we’ve grown!

LYC IS BACK FOR ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON – BIGGER THAN EVER BEFORE!

In recent weeks, parents have been sharing back to school photos of their children on social media, usually with comments like “How can they look this grown-up?” and “can it be only a year?”

As LYC comes back (slightly later than the schools) this September there are similar shouts of disbelief – because LYC has absolutely shot up in the summer holidays! We are delighted to welcome over 150 new members across our LYC family of nine choirs, and eight new members of the LYC staff team:

• Charlotte Brosnan (Conductor, LYC South West)
• Tom Hansell (Head of Operations)
• Will Harriss (Development Consultant)
• Sharon Johnson (Assistant Leader, LYC Cambiata Girls)
• Jonathan Liebeck (Accompanist, LYC South East)
• Merle Ann Sebastian (Assistant Leader, LYC South West)
• Tristram Weymes (Assistant Leader, LYC Cambiata Boys)

The unprecedented influx of new members means that LYC’s total membership exceeds 400 for the first time in our history. That number is set to climb still higher during the year as we launch our fourth LYC regional choir, and 10th LYC choir overall, LYC North East.

It’s the best possible way to open our 10th Anniversary season, for which a huge range of events and activities is planned. LYC Artistic Director Rachel Staunton has chosen just five of them for her latest LYC blog post.
