First Night of the Proms
In a historic first for LYC, our members will appear in the First Night of the BBC Proms. We join the BBC Singers, BBC Symphony Chorus, BBC Symphony Orchestra and soloists Caspar Singh (Tenor) and Gerald Finley (Bass Baritone) to sing ‘Sancta civitas’ by Ralph Vaughan Williams. In this performance, conducted by Sakari Oramo, LYC will be the ‘distant chorus’, accompanied by an offstage trumpet.
The Prom will be broadcast live on BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and BBC Radio 3.

The concert starts at 6.45pm and will last approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, plus an interval.
Which choirs?
The concert will feature members of LYC Cambiata Boys, LYC Cambiata Girls and London Youth Choir.
Ticket prices
Seats from £26 to £86 (plus booking fee).
There will also be a limited number of £8 ‘promming’ tickets available from 9.30am on the day.
