New Choir! Announcing LYC West
LYC are delighted to announce the launch of our second regional choir, LYC West.
Launched in January 2021, LYC West is a new choir for young people in school years 3-6 based in Ealing and the surrounding area. The choir is run by London Youth Choirs and conducted by Olivia Shotton.
LYC West will rehearse during term time on Thursday afternoons from 4.30-5.30pm. Rehearsals will initially be held online and we expect to keep this format until the end of the Spring term. We will look to start face-to-face rehearsals as soon as possible – these will be held at a central Ealing location to be announced.
Following free online taster workshops on 28 January and 4 February, anyone interested in joining LYC West is invited to online auditions on Thursday 11 February.

How does the online workshop work?
You’ll need access to a computer with a good broadband/WiFi connection and the free version of Zoom video conferencing. The workshop is hosted in LYC’s own secure Zoom room, and is led and supervised throughout by LYC music and pastoral staff.
Can you really sing together online?
Yes! It’s a little bit strange at first, and it’s not the same as singing together in real life, but it does work and you can get some amazing results – take a look
