Free Choir Concert in Southwark Cathedral | 10 April
The McGehee School Choir, from New Orleans, are giving a free concert at Southwark Cathedral at 3pm on Friday 10th April
The McGehee School Choir will perform a special concert at Southwark Cathedral on Friday 10 April at 3:00pm. The performance will showcase a diverse repertoire of choral works, highlighting the choir’s musical excellence and rich tradition. Comprising talented student vocalists, the McGehee School Choir is known for its expressive performances and commitment to artistic growth.
From performing on the spiral staircase of McGehee’s historic New Orleans campus to taking the stage at world renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and The Grand Ole Opry, the Louise S McGehee School Concert Choir proudly continues a rich and storied choral tradition.
This appearance at the historic Southwark Cathedral offers a unique opportunity for audiences to experience their sound in one of London’s most iconic sacred spaces.
The concert is open to the public, free of charge and all are warmly invited to attend this inspiring afternoon of music.
Tenebrae Academy: Free Choral Training | Apply by 27 April
Now in its second year, Tenebrae Academy is a fully-funded choral training programme for teenagers who love singing in a choir but currently face challenges and limited opportunities to progress
Led by members of Tenebrae and Nigel Short, this opportunity develops choral singing skills and prepares participants for the next step in their musical journey. Through coaching and side-by-side singing opportunities, the programme develops key choral skills such as sight-reading and ensemble singing in a friendly and encouraging environment.

Hamilton: Relaxed Performance | 29 April
Go Live Theatre, in collaboration with the multi-award winning musical Hamilton, are proud to announce the first ever Relaxed Performance of the show!
Hamilton is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the very foundations of the America we know today.
The score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway – the story of America then, as told by America now.
Date: Wednesday 29 April 2026
Show Begins: 6.30pm
Show Ends: 9.15pm
Running Time: 2 hours & 45 minutes (inc. 15 minute interval)
Age Recommendation: 10+ Contains some strong language
What is a Relaxed Performance?
A relaxed performance provides an inclusive and welcoming experience for audiences who would benefit from a more laidback theatre-going environment. Especially those with neurodiversity, learning difficulties, special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Adaptations include reducing sound levels and special effects, keeping a low level of light on throughout and supporting noise and movement within the auditorium.

Royal Ballet & Opera Youth Programme | Apply by 10 May
The Royal Ballet and Opera invite enthusiastic young singers (age 8-11) to apply for their FREE Youth Opera Programme
RBO YOUNG VOICES (AGE 8)
RBO Young Voices is a singing programme for 8 year olds, developing participants’ vocal control, musical literacy and performing skills. As well as performing at concerts and other events at the Royal Opera House, participants gain a grounding in the skills required to progress into the older ensemble, the RBO Youth Opera Company.
RBO YOUTH OPERA COMPANY (AGE 9-11)
Young singers who will be aged 9-11 on 1st September 2026 are invited to apply for our Youth Opera Company programme – a FREE multi-year in-house chorus which offers all-round training in the performing arts and opportunities to audition for the children’s chorus in the Royal Opera Company’s productions.
Applications are particularly welcomed from those typically under-represented within youth singing programmes including those who are from global majority heritages, lower-income backgrounds, those who are boys, and disabled children.

St Paul's Cathedral Chorister Recruitment| 12 May
St Paul’s Cathedral are currently recruiting the next generation of boy and girl Choristers, with an introductory zoom session at 6pm on Tuesday 12 May
Becoming a Chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral is a transformative experience, offering children the chance to join one of the world’s most renowned choirs. As well as singing for daily services at the Cathedral, Choristers participate in special services, concerts, broadcasts, and tours.
This fully funded opportunity includes a first-class musical education and an exceptional academic curriculum at the Cathedral School. St Paul’s are currently recruiting the next generation of boy and girl Choristers with an introductory zoom session at 18:00 on Tuesday 12th May.

Stile Antico Youth Consort | 29-31 August
Applications are open for Altos, Tenors & Basses age 16-22 to join the Stile Antico Youth Consort course in London
This course offers the chance for young singers (aged approximately 16-22) to work with members of Stile Antico over three days of intensive sessions. The course will focus on ensemble skills, collaborative music-making, and the historical context of the repertoire. All participants will also have the chance to develop their consort singing skills further by working in smaller, one-per-part groups. Stile Antico recognises that participants will come with varied levels of experience and confidence, and will aim to place participants into well-matched groups, with support where needed.
Please note there are no spaces left for Sopranos on this course.
The course fee is £180, but this should not be a barrier to anyone wishing to attend. Bursaries are available, please contact [email protected] to discuss financial assistance, or indicate that you would like to hear more about it in your application form.

Introduction to conducting with National Children's Choir
Are you interested in conducting but don’t really know what it involves?
The National Children’s Choir of Great Britain offers musicians the chance to observe their conductors on their residential courses, to see what it’s like being a conductor of a choir of young people. You will get to learn about planning rehearsals, children’s music education and vocal health, and how to work with children and young people.
The programme is designed for people at the beginning of their choral conducting journey; for example, if you are on a gap year and thinking about conducting in the future, or are doing a music degree but not doing any conducting.

Age 16-25? Become part of a community of creatives who are shaping the future of music in London.
Wired4Music is a netowrk of Londoners aged 16-25, all interested in music. From music makers and radio producers to techies and budding A&Rs (Artist and Repertoire workers), Wired4Music connects people from all over London.
They run learning and network events, provide work experience, give you opportunities to learn from experts, provide chances to share your music and find performance opportunities, and connect you with other musicians, artists and producers in London. Cavatina Chamber Music Trust - Free Ticket Scheme (ages 8-25)
Are you interested in attending more concerts and events this year?
Check out the CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust website, where you can find FREE tickets to a range of concerts to those aged 8 to 25 years old (inclusive), as part of their ticket scheme. These concerts take place in music clubs, societies and festivals, located all throughout the country.

CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust aims to bring chamber music to young people, with the aim of developing the next generation of music lovers and players.
